Guy Pugh - Director
Guy joined Blackwell in 1984 as a chartered civil engineer
having spent his earlier years as a structural designer and project manager for
new mines in South Africa. Guy has worked as both contracts manager and
commercial manager before being appointed to the Blackwell board in 1996. Since
then he has been involved in the diversification of the business into new
regions and activities. Currently responsible for operations within the
remediation division as well as representing the group interests on the boards
of HBR and Renaissance Land Regeneration, subsidiaries of Blackwell.
Dr Chris Evans -
Director
Chris has over 20 years academic and industrial experience
in both geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, with extensive expertise
and detailed specialist knowledge of all aspects of contaminated land
remediation, from treatability through to full-scale implementation.
He is widely recognised as a leading expert
in solidification/stabilisation and soil mix technologies, having been
published extensively on the subject, with designs receiving technical acclaim
in the Brownfield Briefing Innovation Awards, with the use of chemical and
combined treatment systems. He is actively involved with research in remedial
processes at University of Cambridge, where he is also an external examiner.
David Salmon -
Director
David joined Blackwell in 1999. He is a Chartered Surveyor
and since leading the commercial team at Heathrow Terminal 5 has worked on
various projects in the UK and Europe including the 2012 Olympics projects. He
has significant experience in heavy earthmoving, tunnelling, remediation,
general civils and building. He is a member of the Blackwell Group Health and
Safety Leadership Team and an Associate Director of Blackwell.
Roger Lyes -
Contracts Manager
Roger started with Blackwell back in 1975 and developed his
career from a quantity surveying background into a contract manager role.
Responsible for all site operations dealing
with remediation, disposal and handling of waste materials, having been
involved in the management for some of the most complex multi disciplinary
remediation contracts across the UK, over the last 25 years.
James Wilson - Technical
Manager
James joined Blackwell in 2003, assisting the site based
remediation activities of HBR and the wider parent group, providing technical
remediation design, as well as associated regulatory liaison.
Following part-time study to complete an MSc
in Geoenvironmental Engineering at Cardiff University. James went on to manage
the establishment and operation of the Northern Soils Treatment Centre at the
Olympic Park, Stratford, on behalf of Morrison Construction, where HBR were
employed as a Tier 2 contractor prcoessing over 250,000 tonnes of material
using two large soils washing plants and an automated batch mixer for soils
stabilisation.
His input was key to
maintaining treatment output in relation to the associated earthworks
programme, whilst characterising for treatment differing soils, contaminants
and contaminant loadings.
James returned to HBR in 2009 to provide technical
assistance across all project delivery teams, as well as detailed design and
costing input supporting remediation tenders. Recently he has also managed the
design and build of SVE, dual phase and air sparge systems, currently being
utilised on a large framework agreement with a global oil and gas client.
