Complex Sorting / Screening

HBR have designed and undertaken numerous contaminated land and earthworks projects requiring the segregation, separation, cleaning and recovery of waste materials from made ground soils and landfill volumes.  With its own unique set of issues, it is commonly found that each project requires bespoke design of the screening, washing and segregation plant to achieve the desired outcome.

Where possible we employ traditional screening methods as pre-treatment, to reduce the volume of material requiring further more energy intensive processing.  Specialist equipment is utilised for recovery of more difficult materials (glass, plastics, steel, paper, cloth, organics, and wood etc) such as grizzly decks, vibrating screens, finger screens, wet or dry trommels, air-knifes, overband magnets and fully enclosed heated picking stations. In each case the treatment train is scaled to match expected percentages of each waste stream and desired throughputs.  Certain recovered materials maybe suitable for incorporation back into the development scheme with other waste streams retaining a potential off-site recycled value back to market.

By the clever modification of the vibrating screener decks,  HBR have successfully converted the process into a complex asbestos cement fragment removal system.
