Guy Pugh HBR Guy Pugh - Director

Guy joined Blackwell in 1984 as a chartered civil engineer having spent his earlier years as a structural designer and project manager for new mines in South Africa. Guy has worked as both contracts manager and commercial manager before being appointed to the Blackwell board in 1996. Since then he has been involved in the diversification of the business into new regions and activities. Currently responsible for operations within the remediation division as well as representing the group interests on the boards of HBR and Renaissance Land Regeneration, subsidiaries of Blackwell.    

Chris Evans HBR Dr Chris Evans - Director

Chris has over 20 years academic and industrial experience in both geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, with extensive expertise and detailed specialist knowledge of all aspects of contaminated land remediation, from treatability through to full-scale implementation.   He is widely recognised as a leading expert in solidification/stabilisation and soil mix technologies, having been published extensively on the subject, with designs receiving technical acclaim in the Brownfield Briefing Innovation Awards, with the use of chemical and combined treatment systems. He is actively involved with research in remedial processes at University of Cambridge, where he is also an external examiner.

David Salmon HBR David Salmon - Director

David joined Blackwell in 1999. He is a Chartered Surveyor (FRICS) and since leading the commercial team at Heathrow Terminal 5 has worked on various projects in the UK and Europe including the London Olympics. He has significant experience in heavy earthmoving, tunnelling, remediation, general civil engineering and building. 

Gary Chapman1.jpgGary Chapman - Remediation Manager

Gary has over 20 years experience in remediation and geo-environmental engineering working for both consultants and contractors, but with a particular focus on innovative remediation techniques for a wide range of contaminants in soil and water using both in-situ and ex-situ techniques. As Remediation Manager at HBR, Gary is responsible for the design and implementation of the remediation projects from bid management through to validation reporting on project completion. His remediation designs have received critical acclaim winning various industry awards over the years.
